Tradition And Modernity:Research On Lei Yi’s Essays

Entering into the1990s, with the "heat of prose","fever on essay" phenomenon, Scholar Essay stood out from the crowd for their rational contents and colorful speculation. The body part is divided into four chapters:the first chapter discusses the problems of intellectuals, through the discussion of the multiple difficulties the intellectuals faced in the social transformation, further explores the way of intellectuals; the second chapter discusses "the age of extremes", through the reflection on "Age of Extremes", discusses Lei Yi’s attention of grassroots people; the third chapter discusses the modernization, through the criticism of educational and social phenomenon in the process of modernization, further discusses Lei Yi’s cognition and thinking of modernization; the last chapter through discussing the significance of "patriotism" and "society", sets out Lei Yi’s concern and questioning of social problems. The conclusion part summarizes the significances and values, achievements and deficiencies, and the artistic features of Lei Yi’s essays. Through the discussion of the four chapters, in order to have an overall overview and can be the reference for the later researchers.
