Teaching Chinese characters is an important part of international Chinese education. However, based on the whole teaching results, it is also a weak part. The primary phase of Chinese characters teaching plays a vital role in teaching Chinese characters, whose effects directly influence students’ performance. It is important for students who are new to Chinese to make a reasonable character table. In recent years, first-rate Chinese characters table in the syllables, characters and vocabulary grading of international Chinese characters education is gradually replacing the primary Chinese characters table in the old Chinese standard vocabulary and characters grade outline. But students know little about this trend, which will definitely influence the teaching of Chinese and Chinese characters.This paper studies on the same characters and particular ones of900characters in the syllables, characters and vocabulary grading of international Chinese characters education and800characters in the Chinese standard vocabulary and characters grade outline. We analyze the characters from the view of strokes, radicals, characters and morphology, discuss the rationality of the replacement, let students and teachers know the change, and thus support the international Chinese characters teaching.The paper includes five parts:The first part introduces the origin, status, purpose, significance, methods and ideas of the study. As times progress and international Chinese teaching develops, many problems exposes in the old primary Chinese characters table, and the new first-rate Chinese characters table comes into being. But nobody researches on the reason why the new replaces the old.The second part compares two tables, which concludes that there are722same characters in both tables. Then we analyze these characters from the view of strokes, radicals, characters and morphology and study on the underlying reasons why these characters list on both tables. We hope teachers and students will attach more importance to these same characters. The third part compared and analyzed the two tables,which concluded that there are178particular Chinese characters in new first-rate characters table. Then we discussed the reason why these Chinese characters were added by analyzing strokes,radicals,whole characters and word-building in particular characters of first-rate characters table.The fourth part compared and analyzed the two table, which concluded that there are78particular Chinese characters in primary Chinese characters table. Then we discussed the reason why these characters were eliminated by analyzing strokes,radicals,whole characters and word-building, which can help teachers to emphasize and explain appropriately.The fifth part is the conclusion, which concluded the main points of view and the consequence.
