At present, predecessors have already done the single point of survey research for Taochuan dialect, this dissertation analyses and studies the dialect of Taochuan’s34administrative villages and town residents’ committees from geography and social perspective, and uses the means of mapping, vividly showing the results of the survey, in order to fill the blank of academic research for the Taochuan dialect study in a certain level, and to help us predict the development trend of dialect.From the perspective of geographical linguistics, There exists a high degree of unity in pronunciation among the24site:(1) the tone is6.the tone differences only reflects in the rate of Tone33intergrating into Tone44.(2) the initials are highly unified, because of the different speed, the minority initials show differences in the differentiation process.(3)the finals show few differences. Due to geographical location and language contact, a few final show difference. In Vocabulary, there is not difference when the24site’s people say "spider"."ants"."hole"."thorn"."shake" and "you", but when they call "father"."frog"."bending" and "drill", differences appear.From the aspects of sociolinguistics,we can see mandarin is the most popular language, but the use of dialect range is also wide, however,with the development of local economy and the penetration of mandarin and,dialect is gradually being squeezed, but in the short term, dialect will survive, on one hand,local people is very proud of the dialect language, on the other hand, the Taochuan dialect is strong enough to have radiation effect on adjacent regions. As to the use of Taochuan dialect, age.gender. ethnic.ultural background and administrative divisions will exert a certain influence.
