Object:1. To evaluate the voice of patients through voice assessment system and investigate theeffect of voice training without medical treatment on voice disorder through comparing voice ofpre-training with post-training by assessment system.2. To investigate the effect of single voice training for the improvement of singer’s voicequality through comparison of the voice ranges, jitter, shimmer, and NHR(ratio of noise toharmonics)before and after voice training.Methods:1. Patients who is willing to receive the single voice training rather than other medicalpreventions were chosen from the clinic of Dr Pingjiang Gein otolaryngology department ofGuangDong General hospital.First, the patients were examined throughlyby the means ofGRBAS(G-grade, R-roughness, B-Breathiness, A-Asthenia, S-strain), VHI(voice handicap index),laryngostroboscopy, aerodynamics evaluation and acoustic analysis. And then they received5courses of voice training according to the methods established by Prof Jiali Peng. After the voicetraining finished, the patients were evaluatedby the same assessment. The complete records of21cases were collected and analyzedby T test to find out any significant differences betweenpre-training and post-training.2. Two singers received3courses of the single voice training respectively. Records of theacoustic analysis and the register were collected and compared voice of pre-training withpost-voice training.Results:1. There are significant differencesin voice assessment between pre-training and post-training(p<0.01),especially for the following parameters:(1) G (grade) and R (roughness) in GRBAS;(2)the total and subscalescores in VHI assessment;(3) the index of the laryngostroboscopy, such asclosure of vocal cords, symmetry of vocal vibration, the mucosal wave and vibration regularity ofthe vocal cords;(4) two index of the aerodynamics evaluation, MLPT and MPT;(5) two index ofthe acoustic analysis, jitter and shimmer.2. After the voice treining, the voice ranges of the two singers extended broader and wider, and the scores of both jitter and shimmer became lower. Conclusion:1.Voice training is very effective for the treatment of voice disorders.2. Voice training is effective in improving voice range and quality.
