Analysis Of The Names Of The Villages In The City Of Shaoyang Of Hunan Province

Place-name as a kind of social phenomenon is an objective existence, it is the the name of geographic entities and activities in the real life area for people.It has very important significance to research of place-name for place-names is the living fossil of social language and culture.The composition and the reason of the place-name have a certain grammar rule.This thesis analyzes the names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang of Hunan province in the perspective of sociolinguistics and place-name of regional studies,through inspecting the structure composition and the naming types of the names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang, And use the method of statistics to sum up the regional distribution types of the names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang, as well as the relationship with the physical and human geography of the northwestern hunan region. Look forward to provide some information on the place-name and the historical culture of the villages in the city of Shaoyang and the dialect of Shaoyang.This thesis includes six parts:The first chapter is the preliminary remarks.Firstly describes the situation of China’s place names and gives a brief introduction to the geographic profile of Shaoyang,and then defines the object of this paper, introduce the significance of this study, the research methods and procedures.The second chapter analysis the names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang from the linguistic point of view, including pronunciation, word formation and rhetorical.Meanwhile,this part projects a pilot belief that there exists geographical difference between these names.The third chapter is a detailed analysis about the place-name of Shaoyang in the naming type.The names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang can be divided into three categories, including descriptive place-name,narrative place-name and the place-name having implied meaning.The fourth chapter shows that geographical distribution of the names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang through the method of statistical analysis of clustering analysis,which find out that the place-name of the whole city of Shaoyang With an order cluster structure, which has explain that the distribution of the names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang has a regular distribution.Then give an introduction and explanation of the distribution characteristics of the names of the villages in the city of Shaoyang which is according to the features of nature and human geography environment of the city of Shaoyang.The fifth chapter makes a further explanation to the geographical features of Shaoyang village name,according to the city of Shaoyang region’s natural geographical and cultural historical background.Then it reveals the close relationship between the generation and development of the village’s name and regional political and economy,immigration history and national culture.The last chapter is the conclusion, a comprehensive review and summary of the original text,including the innovation points of the paper,the deficiencies and the prospect of the paper.
