The Study On The Appellation As To Dialects Of Xinning County In Hunan Province

Xinning dialect is the dialect with Xiang dialect’s characteristics.As an important aspect of the Xinning dialect,the appellation system embodies the entire characteristics of Xiang dialect as well as its own features.This paper selects the Jinshi town of Xinning county as the representative place.By using the method of field investigation,objective description,comparative analysis and canonical analysis,this thesis system studies the appellation of Xinning dialect based on classification and arrangement for the Xinning dialect’s appellation materials.The thesis contains five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction and the last chapter is the conclusion.Thereinto,the second chapter to the fourth chapter are the key points of this thesis.In the first chapter of introduction,mainly introduces general situation of Xinning county,illustrate the current situation at home and abroad,and illustrate the contents and meaning of this project.In the end,the source and research methods on this paper are also simply accounted.The second chapter classifies and arranges the Xinning dialect’s social appellation,kinship appellation and name appellation.The third chapter system studies the appellation of Xinning dialect by divided into four parts.The first part,a study of the social appellation system of Xinning dialect has been carried out from the aspects of rhetoric means,suffix,the phrase of "de" and so on.The second part, an elaboration of Xinning dialect’s kinship appellations has been made from the aspects of phonetics, prefix,order of generation,direct appellation and indirect appellation,terms based on the tones of other relatives,fictive use of kinship appellation and so on. The third part analyses the choices of pragmatic on the Xinning dialect’s name appellation.The fourth part,based on the whole situation,makes gender analysis of Xinning dialect’s appellations and mainly discusses appellation’s gender differentiation, dissemination, omission and orientation.The fourth chapter analyses several cases on Xinning frequently-used and representative kinship appellations and studies the use situation of different address forms combined with sentences.The fifth chapter makes a conclusion for this research and put forward some deficiencies.
