On the basis of previous studies, together with individualunderstanding of advocate of concise, the author makes a systematical analysis, which focuseson the pandect, stylistics, creation and critical appreciation theory.The main body is composed of three chapters.Chapter one traces back to the source of Liu Xie’s advocate of concise theory, which isdivided into two sections: the first one has collected the formation history of Liu Xie’sadvocate of concise thought, which includes two parts: one part collects the predecessors’related point of view on the idea of advocate of concise and the other part illustrates Liu Xie’spoint of view on it. In the second section, the authormainly discusses the advocate of concise thought in stylistics. In the third one, the authorfocuses mainly on the creation theory aspect of Liu Xie’s advocate of concise thought. Thefourth section mainly discusses the criticism theory of appreciation aspect of Liu Xie’sadvocate of concise thought.Chapter three explains the aesthetic meaning of Liu Xie’s advocate of concise thoughtand its influence, which is divided into two sections: the first one interprets the aestheticmeaning of Liu Xie’s advocate of concise thought from two aspects of Tao’ s ontology and thetheory of “Language Does Not Give The Fullness of The Concept In The Mind”; the secondone discusses the influence of Liu Xie’s advocate of concise thought on China’s Literaturetheory, historical theory and other literature and arts.
