Research On The Teaching Of Chinese Characters To Arab Students

Chinese character is a gate to learning Chinese language, the author thinks that whodidn’t learn Chinese characters won’t be able to learn Chinese language, as well asunderstanding Chinese great culture and ancient civilization.As for the Arabs, in the process of learning Chinese language, writing Chinese charactersis one of the most difficult problems. In this thesis, through the comparison between theArabic scripts and Chinese characters, the author points out the importance of learningChinese characters in the process of learning Chinese language, and aims to present methodsto the Arab students in learning Chinese characters, the author also emphasizes on theimportance of Chinese characters lessons in the Chinese language learning process,particularly for the Arab students.This thesis is divided into four chapters:Chapter1: Introduction: Presents the purpose and value of the research, the objective andmethods of the research and the importance of learning Chinese characters. It also points outthe current situation of learning Chinese characters now in Egypt.Chapter2: Comparison between Chinese characters and Arabic scripts characteristics,carried out through four aspects in the writing method between the two languages which are:the quantity, the structure, the pronunciation and the meaning. This chapter also aims tosummarize the difficulties that the Arab students face in learning Chinese characters.Chapter3: Points out how to make the Arab students overcome the difficulties of theChinese characters. Presents to the Arab students how to write, recognize, read andremember the Chinese characters. The author presents Chinese characters’ teaching methodsto solve these problems.Chapter4: Aims to design a Chinese characters lessons to the Arab students who arelearning Chinese language.In this chapter the author emphasizes on opening specialized classes for teachingChinese characters, talks extensively about the aim, key points, steps and the methods ofteaching these Chinese characters lessons.Hopefully this thesis would be useful and contribute for teaching learning the Chinesecharacters.
