As modern science and technology develops at a high speed, we usher in a world ofinformation and technology. Advanced information and technologies provide people withpotentials and possibilities of communications among one another. Under such internationalcircumstances, the role of translation in promoting international and interculturalcommunications and understandings is becoming increasingly important. However, manytranslators have faced numerous challenges in their work. How to use CAT software to assistthem in finishing translation job with good quality efficiently has become an importantresearch subject.In order to solve this problem, this report, by analyzing the translation project of TheCambridge Companion to Modern Chinese Culture, displays the process of translation by Déjà Vu X2in detail and how it assists translators in doing their jobs efficiently and correctly.This report, on the basis of describing features of Déjà Vu X2in general, demonstrates itskey advantages and whole operational process.In this report, the writer first provides a brief introduction of The Cambridge Companionto Modern Chinese Culture and then describes the complete translation process of the secondchapter of this book. All of this is done by integrating the operation of Déjà Vu X2and thespecific translation project. According to the actual translation project of the writer, this reportmakes a tentative research to the features and operational process(including importing thesource text, creating TB,TM and Lexicon, pre-translation, translation and exporting the targettext.)of Déjà Vu X2, proving that Déjà Vu X2can help translators to do their jobsefficiently and correctly with a whole demonstration of the process of Déjà Vu X2fromPre-translation analysis, Import of source text, Creation of TB and TM, Translation andExport of the target text.
