| With the further development of economic globalization, the exchange of products between different countries is becoming more and more frequent, as a result, how to gain advantage in the increasingly fierce international commercial competition, the translation of the corresponding product descriptions is particularly significant. As accurate and appropriate translation of the manual not only can provide information to consumers, but also enable consumers to take enough interest in the product so as to consume, allowing manufacturers to achieve the ultimate goal of profiting. There has been much research on the translation of product instructions, most of which summarized the textual features of the manual translation, the principles and methods of manual translation based on the functional translation theory, textual analysis theory or functional equivalence theory, etc. It is obvious that there still exist such mistakes as terminology, syntax and logic mistakes on the manual translation at the same time. Therefore, the present paper focuses on the accuracy of manual translation according to the functional translation theory, text analysis theory and functional equivalence theory, summing up the lexical and syntactic features of the manual on the basis of the preceding research, and summarizing the accuracy of the translation brief by analyzing specific translation examples. The requirements are to convey the full information of original text, to express the fine feelings and to inspire consumers to purchase the relevant goods. Besides, in order to achieve the accuracy of translation, the present paper also summarizes the corresponding translation strategies, namely, literal translation, liberal translation and retranslation. |
