The Study Of Evaluation On The Film Copyrights

Nowadays, the film copyright assessment system in China has not yet beenestablished. Based on Chinese film box-office market present situation, the paper adoptsthe method of empirical analysis and normative analysis to study the film box-office valueinfluential factors and the value of movie derivatives in the economic perspective to studythe economic value of film rights.Firstly,this paper reviews and organizes relevant literature,which concerns the filmindustry chain, box-office value factors, copyright and intangible assets assessment,and itreviews the current scholars study of film rights assessment; Secondly, based oneconomics theory and the understanding of the intangible assets evaluation theory, it raisesrelevant assumptions. Based on the assumptions, the paper carries on empirical analysis onthe factors which influence the box-office value and verifies the assumptions; Finally, thepaper studies the movie derivatives valuation in normative research.Through the result of the Empirical analysis,it found that the film quality and themarketing strategy are related to the movie box office value, and the film quality is betterthan the marketing strategy in the current Chinese film market. At the same time, the studyof movie derivatives research shows that the movie derivatives have the features ofdependencies, timeliness and the characteristics,and it is applied to an intangible assetsappraisal methods.Therefore, based on China’s film market present situation, the country should improvethe film copyright assessment system through the foreign experience.The appraiser shouldpay more attention to the film quality and film marketing strategy in addition to thecharacteristics of evaluation objects. At the same time, the Country should establish filmcopyright legislation and enhance people’s awareness of copyright protection.
