This is a report on translation of Chinese Thinking Mode (pp.121~143, orChapter8~Chapter9, Part I) by Wu Chun. The source text can be divided into twoparts: Chapter8and Chapter9, Part I. Chapter8talks about the evaluation onexperience thinking, analyzes the features of empirical thinking through examples likepottery firing and instance in classics and discusses the reliability and legality ofexperience. The author of the text points out that Chapter8is the core chapter ofexperience thinking. Then Chapter9, Part I talks about purposefulness of Chinesethinking.This report consists of seven parts. Part One is the summary of this report,including its background and significance. Part Two introduces the author of the textand the text analysis and the applied theory-Relevance Theory. Part Three paysattention to the difficulties and the translation techniques. The difficulties include thetranslation of the terminology, works written in classical Chinese and the translationof different sentences. Part Four shows the inspirations and lessons learned from thereport and some unsolved questions. Part Five is the bibliography. Part Six is theappendix including the source text and the target text. The final part is theacknowledgements to those who have helped me with this report.
