Primary oral Chinese class for foreigners is one of the basic courses for Chineselanguage learners. Oral expression is not only an important factor in evaluating Chinese, butalso a crucial measure of Chinese communication skills. At the primary stage of Chineselearning, the success of oral Chinese teaching has a great influence on the future study forChinese language learners. Explaining meticulously and giving students more chances topractice, the application principle, student-centered and the appropriate correction areteaching principles of primary oral Chinese teaching. At present, the main problems existingin primary oral Chinese teaching for foreign learners are the teaching models, the teachingmaterials, the existent problems in the teachers, Chinese learners with their own problems,and what’s more important, the main problems on teaching content in the process of teaching.Therefore, in the face of these problems there are some countermeasures such as emphasizingthe interests during the teaching, strengthening the application of materials, improving overallqualities of teachers, and using teaching strategies properly. As to teaching content, the maindifficulties lie on the pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and writing. Aiming at theseproblems, the corresponding solutions are strengthening pronunciation, conductingvocabulary extension, intensifying sentence structures, explaining forms and meaning ofChinese characters interestingly and so on. In the part of the instructional design example ofprimary oral Chinese class for foreign learners, this paper mainly takes the I Want to BerthTicket to Guilin as the example to analyze the employing teaching strategies which solve theproblems that appear in primary oral Chinese class.
