A C-E Translation Practice Report Of Management And Regulations Texts

With the development of economic globalization, Chinese universities gradually andmore actively participate in the international competition with more and more exchanges andcooperation with foreign universities. It is of great importance for the universities to do thecommunication work. Among all the communication work, the translation of universityregulations is very essential.This practice-based report focuses on the cases and reflects the adaptation of FunctionalEquivalence Theory applied in C-E translation. Guided by Functional Equivalence Theoryand based on many pragmatic cases, this report solves translation problems throughcomparative case studies.The purpose of this paper is to conduct in-depth reflection on the whole process oftranslation; and the valuable experience will play a guiding role in the future study and workof translation. In addition, based on the principle of Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory,the author tries to reach the goal of equivalence between the source text and the translation inthe perspective of vocabulary, syntax and style.The report consists of five chapters: general introduction of translation, task description,process description, case analysis and conclusion. The task description describes the taskbackground, client requirements and the nature of the task; process description includes thepre planning, preparation of tools, text analysis, translation strategy, translation processoutline and post translation matters. Case analysis is the core of this report, based on Nida’sFunctional Equivalence Theory and the reader centered principle, this chapter introduces thetranslation process. And comprehensively consider the form, information and the difference ofsentence structure of the original text; this chapter fully conveys the original meaning and thestructure recombinant of the target text. And reflect the syntactic features in the targetlanguage. According to different English translation problems, the author adopts propertranslation strategies, methods and techniques. The last part of the report is a summary ofunsolved problems in the process of translation and related issues, including the futureinspired and prospect for the future work of the study. It paves the way for translation studyand work.
