The research also suggest that the level of separation-individuation has significant impact on the individual’s work and daily life,especially in undergraduate,to whom the level of separation-individuation is a predictor of school adjustment.Wether freshmen adapt to college or not, how to help them adapt to college is worthy of attention for researchers. This study focused on the possible influencing factors to school adjustment such as parenting and separation-individuation, to explore the influence factors of college students school adjustment.A total of524freshmen were recruited from four universities in China,to check out the relationship between parenting and college adjustment is mediated by separation-individuation. Researchers divided the32students into experimental group and control group,establish a group counseling program to enhance the separation-individuation and school adjustment of freshmen and make group counseling in the experimental group, try to through the intervention to improve college students’ separation-individuation and school adjustment.The results showed that: (1) the freshmen of different gender existed significant differences in the score separation-individuation;the freshmen of different sources existed significant differences in parenting,separation-individuation and school adjustment;the freshmen of single child or not existed significant differences in parenting,separation-individuation and school adjustment;the freshmen of student leaders or not existed significant differences in parenting and school adjustment.(2)warm,encourage independent and separation-individuation was strongly associated with school adjustment in a positive way, whereas control only positively predicted the school adjustment of the freshman.(3)separation-individuation served to partially mediate between parenting and school adjustment.(4)The group counseling intervention program in this study is scientifie,practical and effcetive,the freshmen’s level of separation-individuation and school adjustment have significant improved. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | freshman, parenting, separation-individuation, school adjustment, group counseling | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
