Zhang Zongsu is a Ci writer of Qianlong period in Qing dynasty with his masterpieceChronicle of Ci and Ci Collection in Oucun. He came from Zhang family in Haiyan which is abig cultural family. The books they collected and stored in Sheyuan are of great significancein academic history of China. In his early years, Zhang learned from Xu Angxiao andinherited his theory of Ci of Zhe School. However he did not accept this theory totally andhad his own idea as well. Ci Collection in Oucun is one of his masterpiece with102piece ofCi and which followed the work of Zhang Yan and Shi Zuda in Nansong, embodied his ideaof “intangibleness and elegance” in Ci creation.Chronicle of Ci was made in his decline years which is a classical, rigorous and materialwork. It is a new type of collection--documentary type in collection degree. This paper mainlyconforms the collection source of Chronicle of Ci by comparison study with HuaanCollection, Ci Yuan Cong Tan and Ji Gu Ge Liu Shi Jia Ci. One of the standards for collectionof Chronicle of Ci is “have something” and it also recorded lots of comment of Ci. Then itwas not only very import for document storing and constructing Ci history, but also indicatedthe acception of Ci writers in every dynasty. It is obvious that most of the works in Chronicleof Ci were from Nansong, and very few of them were from Beisong. From the comparison ofthe number of works of Chunya School and Haofang School, we can see that Zhang Zongsuadmired Jiang Kui and Zhang Yan as well as Su Shi and Xin Qiji,it was also shown in theintrospection of Zhe Schlool. At the same time, we can see that Zhang Zongsu cared abouthistory and inclusive idea of Ci.
