The Discussion Of Uxorilocal Marriage In The Novels Of Ming And Qing Dynasties

There are a great number of uxorilocal marriages in the novels of Ming and QingDynasties，which constructs a variety of uxorilocal plots and creates many vividcharacters.However, the current researches on topic are limited,which leaves muchroom for further study.This paper embarks from the text,and it will expand systematicstudy of the uxorilocal marriages in novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties with Literaryperspective.In this paper, this study chooses uxorilocal marriage in novels of Ming and QingDynasties as research subject, which can be divided into three parts.The first part is the introduction. This paper mainly defines the concept ofuxorilocal marriage,then introduces the status and the value of this research.The second part is the main body, includes three chapters. The first chapter clearlydisplay the related contents with a form,thus make the object of study clear in thispaper.After that,the colorful descriptions of uxorilocal marriages involved areclassified to explore a variety of life and fate of people at that time,according to theresearch above we could dialysis the specific social ecology.The second chapterdiscusses the family relationship,the economic situation of both sides, the uxorilocalhusband’s ability to support their families and the change of their status,theabove-mentioned three factors affect the stability of uxorilocal marriage.The thirdchapter analyzes the view of marriage in Ming and Qing Dynasties through uxorilocalmarriage,for instance,the form of marriage was free,the standard of choosing aspouse was flexible,and people payed attention to wedding ceremony.In the final part, the study concludes that though uxorilocal marriage prevailed inMing and Qing Dynasties,the traditional marriage form was still the mainstream formof marriage. The return of uxorilocal marriage to traditional marriage form in thenovels of Ming and Qing Dynasties could fully illustrate the problem.
