Writing has been the basic skill in English learning. Students have to write in English correctly and fluently not only in the English test but also in daily life. However, at present English writing of many college students can not meet the requirements of communication in daily life. Writing improves less and slower than the other English skills. Accordingly, what factors can influence the students’ writing and how to develop students’ written proficiency have become the main focus of scholars. Nowadays, proper teacher feedback is generally regarded as an effective way to improve students’ English written proficiency. The present research tends to study the relationship between the students’ attitudes and the effectiveness of teacher corrective feedback in English writing.This study intends to answer three questions as follows. Firstly, what are the students’ attitudes towards the teacher corrective feedback? Secondly, what the impact does teacher corrective feedback have on improving the linguistic accuracy of participants’ writing? Thirdly, what is the relationship between the students’ attitudes and the effectiveness of teacher corrective feedback?The findings suggest that teacher corrective feedback has a close relationship with students’ attitudes. To be more specific, the students’ attitudes decide the effectiveness of teacher corrective feedback. According to the findings of the study, some pedagogical suggestions about teaching English writing are provided at last.
