In the long history of Chinese literature, the Six Dynasties Literature carried forward the Pre-Qin Literature which is the enlightenment and demystified the Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties Literature. It exudes a unique charm and glory with its wide range of ideological connotations, bright and beautiful words and a variety of manifestations. Compared to literatures of other times, the most prominent feature of the literature of this period is paying attention to speculation and seeking spiritual liberation. Literature consciously becomes an independent learning, which also began at this time.At the same time, from the Literary Review written by Cao Pi to The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons written by Liu Xie, Chinese classical literary criticism also had developed from the embryonic to a mature entity. In the process pf the later scholars and literary critics receiving the Six Dynasties Literature, a large number of works of literary theory has emerged, which usually use the classical literary notes criticism as carriers. This is depended on the characteristics of re-tasting, re-understanding of the classical literature itself, which is quite reasonable. However, since the20th century, especially after the reform and opening period when the Western literary theory flowed over into the mainland, this literary criticism form of discourse whose structures have not obvious logic has gradually displaced by the form of scientific papers which have strict form and discourse. In this context, the research on the Six Dynasties Literature by Mr. Qian Zhongshu in Limited Views:Essays on ideas and litters, Studies on Old Chinese Poetry and other works is particularly valuable. The family learning history of Mr. Qian is quite far-reaching. After his adulthood, he had learned from the famous teacher and studied in Western. The most important is his excellent talent and a lifelong attempt on the research of classical literature, which makes his works become the prime examples of the Classical Notes. Therefore, the study on Six Dynasties Literature in the writings of Mr. Qian has learned nutrition both from the old and new form and mixed strong points together of the Chinese and Western literary reviews. It has gone beyond Qian’s personal literary likes and dislikes, and has the significance of summed-up to the traditional literary studies in the Six Dynasties.Through the close reading of the text of Limited Views:Essays on ideas and litters, Studies on Old Chinese Poetry and other academic works, the article summarizes the details about Six Dynasties Literature and makes the Literary Notes on academic achievements which are scattered become principled and systematized. It focuses on the Review of his Six Dynasties Literature research and the results. Finally, it will give the work of Qian a reasonable location and value judgments, to make it better to provide inspiration and guidance for our study of classical literature today.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the preface, which mainly analyses the basic conditions of Qian’s works of literary studies in the Six Dynasties and indicates the purpose of the topics and research status.The second part is an overview of the Six Dynasties Literature and Qian’s academic background and scholarship.The third and the fourth part is the main part of this paper. It will be the analysis of Qian’s research on the Six Dynasties literature from the research both on Six Dynasties literature text and the literary criticism and appreciation in the Six Dynasties Literature. Combined with the literary original texts and previous comments, it will proceed from the writings and cite a large number of instances.The fifth part is the conclusion. It will be based on the above study and make the realistic analysis of the value of research and historical status of Qian’s research on Six Dynasties Literature. It contents the corresponding conclusions, which have two points:1. Qian’s ensemble appraise on Six Dynasties Literature;2. Qian’s aesthetic schema of Six Dynasties Literature and its characteristics.
