The Research Of The Sun’s Family Literature In Yanshan At The Beginning Of The Qing Dynasty

The literary family was one literary phenomenon which was widespread and striking in the literary world during the Ming and Qing dynasties.The Ming and Qing dynasties was the other important period that cultural families boom in the Shandong region after the Han dynasties.The Sun family of Yanshan was a family which had an affect on politics, economy and culture of Shandong region during this period.Since the Ming dynasty,the Sun family had moved to Yanshen Town of the Yidu County.They were court artisans at first and got rich by engaging in business.The Sun family flourished in the early years of the Qing Dynasty and one of them had become a famous minister.Not only that,they had created valuable cultural achievements during that period because of the profound cultural accumulation. Based on the extensive collection of datas,this thesis researchs the Sun’s literary creation from a broad social, cultural and family perspective to show a complete picture of the Sun’s literary creation and to make objective and fair evaluation. The thesis is composed of four parts:Part one is to investigate the The origin, migration and development of the Sun family.The Sun family had moved to Yanshen Town of Yidu County,Qingzhou City from the Zaoqiang County,Zhili Province.Their ancestors were court artisans and made azure stone handicrafts.They became rich by engaging in trade and rose by getting good grades in the imperial examination.The Sun family started to reading from Sun Yanshou who was the6th of the family.After the cultural accumulation by three generations,Sun Tingquan who is the9th did well in imperial examinations and became the prime minister at last. Sun Tingquan pushed the family to the peak with Sun Tingduo,Sun Baotong and others.The Sun family declined since the11th. This part also recounts the life stories of Sun Tingquan and Sun Tingduo.Part two has discussed the social cultural environment and the literary communication which had influenced the Sun’s literary creation.The thesis has divided the Sun’s creation into three historical stages:The initial stage is from the Wanli era of the Ming dynasty to the Shunzhi era of the Qing dynasy.During this time the Sun family had critically inherited the revivalist Poetics. The meridian stage is from the middle of Shunzhi era to the middle of Kangxi era.During this time the Shandong literary world had become so prosperous that had created a positive culture atmosphere for the Sun family. The decline period is in the Kangxi’s middle and later. Along with the death of Wang Shizhen who was the poetry master of one generation,Shandong literary world and the Sun’s creation had declined.In additon,this part has investigated the literary communication of Sun Tingquan,Sun Tingduo and Sun Baotong.Part three is special research on Sun Tingquan’s work. Sun Tingquan’s poetry has uphold the traditional of elegant and has his own style which is mild and elegance. His landscape poetry is beautiful and implicit which shows his feelings. His pastoral poetry has described the scence of countryside and his response poetry is very elegant too.Sun Tingquan’s book of Yanshan Za Ji is very precious for the history and geography research.The book of Nan Zheng Ji Lue and Han Shi Yi are also meaningful works,too.Part four is the rearch on works of Sun Tingduo,Sun Baotong and others. Sun Tingduo’s poetry is mainly landscape and pastoral poetry which is beautiful and plain.The content of his landscape is diversiform which includes hometown scenery, journey scenery,temple scenery,homesickness and the mental distress of underappreciation.Sun Baotong compose poems following the poetry’s example which was created at the glorious age of Tang dynasty.His poetry is very magnificent and shows his positive outlook of the world.The poetry of Chu Ji expresses lofty sentiments and aspirations.The poetry of Li Shen Ji sings the praises of the saints and the poetry of Guo Jiang Ji is writed in the south which is elegant and beautiful. Besides, other poets’ creations of the Sun family had reflected the inheritance of the family literary tradition.
