The research of Quaternary climate change is very important for reconstructing the past and predicting the future global climate change, especially for the research of the typical monsoon region. In this paper, the object of study is the sediments of Xinghua in Subei Basin. We carried out a series of work including taking drilling and collecting the samples; established a chronology by14C dating, paleomagnetic dating and climate stratigraphy. Then analyzed the particle size and geochemical elements based on the front analysis. At last rebuilt the environmental and climatic change of Subei Basin since36million years. The following is the brief conclusion of the study:1.Reconsrtuct the time series from42meters depth of sedimentary strata according to the14C dating, paleomagnetic dating and climate stratigraphy, the age of42m is about360ka.2.Established Subei Basin climate evolution since36million years, according to analysis the indicators of the particle size (average particle size, median diameter, sorting coefficient, kurtosis, skewness) and geochemical element analysis (correlation analysis, the R-factor analysis, a single representative elements, element ratios analysis). the multi-proxy records suggest8stages of climate changes:(1)360-335ka corresponding to MIS10, is a cold and dry climate, and gradually become warm and humid;(2)335-292ka, corresponds to MIS9, warm and humid climate;(3)292-242ka, corresponding to MIS8, is a cold and dry climate, but the middle of this period has a weak cold and dry climate fluctuations and conform a glacial-interglacial climate cycles with the upper stage;(4)242-191ka, corresponds to MIS7, warm and humid climate dominated, but showing double warm and a cold fluctuations;(5)191-130ka, corresponding to MIS6, a cold and dry climate, and almost without fluctuation constitutes a glacial-interglacial cycles with the last stage too;(6)130-70ka, corresponds to MIS5,warm and humid, but there are three warm and two cold climate fluctuations;(7)70-12ka, mainly corresponds in MIS4-2, cold and dry climate, but there are still seist warm climate, and with the last stage consist a most typical glacial cycles;(8)12-0ka in MIS1stage, overall a warm and humid climate, but the proximate grade fluctuations of wet and dry is significant.3.The result of analysing the median diameter and Rb/Sr of XH-2hole section revealed that it is very similar with the classic deep-sea oxygen isotope, the Lingtai loess magnetic susceptibility curve, and sea-level change curve. This indicates that the climate change in eastern China not only has great correlation with the global climate change but also has great regional character which reflects the special geographical location of Subei Basin.
