Nanochannel technology, has made considerable progress since the nineties ofthe last century. Nanochannel is the nanopore or tube with a one-dimensional sizebetween0.10nm and100nm. The nanochannel has been extensively used in thefields of biomedicine, materials science, separation and biosensing because of its sizeeffect on the structure, the surface area effect, the special physical and chemicalproperties of the channel surface. In this paper, the titanium dioxide and silica nanochannels were prepared andcharacterized. The transportation of chiral substances through the functionalizednanochannel membranes was investigated. Compared with the traditional highperformance liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis, there are fewreports on the application of nanochannel technology to separate chiral substances.Details are presented in this thesis as follows:The titanium dioxide and silica were deposited within the pores of the aluminatemplate by sol-gel template synthesis method, respectively. Moderncharacterization techniques were used to observe the morphology of the preparednanotube array. The relationship between the deposition time and the pore size ofthe nanochannels was discussed by electrochemical methods. At the same time, theelements of the nanochannel and the surface charge were investigated.A chiral selector,β-cyclodextrin, which can provide a chiral environment, wasmodified in the pores of the nanotubes. Based on the differences of transport ratebetween the target objects within the nanopore, the chiral separation can beseparated. The effect of pH value of the buffer solution, ionic strength of the buffersolution, the pore size of the nanochannels and the concentration of the targetsubstance on the separation of chiral were investigated.
