Sulfur in bauxite is the effect of alumina production to one of the important impurities, thesulfur content directly affect the alumina production index.Pure mineral pyrite experiments andinfrared spectrum analysis,ultraviolet adsorption and molecular simulation methods were used toanalyze effective desulfurization mechanism;Pure mineral diaspore experiments,infraredspectrum analysis,SEM were used to to analyze the factors which influence the useful mineraldiaspore loss in high sulfur bauxite desulphurization process and its correspondingmechanism,and done a small laboratory actual ore reverse flotation desulfurization experiment,obtained good experimental index.Use pyrite and diaspore as flotation object, studies the two mineral flotability under differentconditions,were investigated to enhance the desulfurization efficiency and reduce themonohydrate bauxite diaspore losses of various factors,the experiment results show that: thelonger the xanthate in the hydrocarbon chain,the better for collecting effect of pyrite,branchedchain xanthate ratio straight-chain xanthate on pyrite of collecting effect is better;Along with therising of the flotation machine speed,the loss of diaspore will increase;Slurry pH, ore particle sizeand the addition of flotation reagents on the diaspore recovery also has a significant impact,andthe granularity of mineral fine,diaspore recovery rate is higher.By adding starch,diasporerecovery rate significantly decreased,and showed that the starch to diaspore has certaininhibition,ordinary starch of diaspore inhibitory effect is worse than modified starch.Xanthate molecular with mineral surface model is established,its role in energycalculation,and the xanthate type of collector and pyrite process the change of the energy arestudied according by computer molecular simulation platform,the result shows that the pyriteenergies are negative with the effects of the different xanthate,the smaller the energy function, thestronger adsorption,so the result is amyl xanthate effect on pyrite is stronger,the longer thexanthate in the hydrocarbon chain,it is better for collecting pyrite,branched chain xanthate ratiostraight-chain xanthate on collecting pyrite better,these results are consistent with single mineraltest results.Ultraviolet adsorption tests show that after adding activator copper-sulfate,increasedthe xanthate in the pyrite surface adsorption;Infrared spectrum analysis show that pyrite withxanthate produced chemical adsorption,generate a double yellow medicine on pyrite surface.Through diaspore and starch infrared spectrogram,the electrostatic forces between modified starchwith diaspore have strong hydrogen bonding interaction;Mineral SEM topography analysis showsthat the modified starch adsorbed on the surface diaspore, mineral particles flocculation and tendto make grain size increases,the decrease of useful minerals in the flotation desulfurizationprocess diaspore losses. High sulfur bauxite reverse flotation desulfurization open circuit test results show that usingone rough and one scavenging flotation process,use CuSO4as activator,modified starch asinhibitor,under the optimum condition of medicament,obtained bauxite concentrate with0.28%S grade and90.12%Al2O3recovery,S content down to below0.3%indicator of industrialrequirements.
