Specific weight of wolframite is Substantially larger than gangue minerals, So gravityseparation is the most common and efficient used methodto wolframite separation. Wolframite is crispand over grinding easily, separate fine wolframite mud by conventional gravity concentration therecovery rate is very low, because the size is too thin, more than half of the wolframite losses in thetailings. Adopts full floatation process or process of combination gravity separation magneticseparation and flotation are effective methods to separate fine wolframite mud. Flotability ofwolframite is poor, reaserch for suitable ultrafine wolframite collector and its use in the actualproduction ofthe fine wolframite mud, is a big problem in the mineralprocessing industry.In order to finding an effective collector to ultrafine wolframite, the flotation behaviors ofultrafine wolframite and gangue minerals have been investigated. sodium oleate,731and GYR threealiphatic acid collectors and cupferron, salicylaldoxime and benzohydroxamic acid three chelatingcollectors are used independently or different proportion combined in the floatation research. Resultsdemonstrate that use lead nitrate300mg·L-1as egulator,731and salicylaldoxime Dosage ratio9:1ascombined collector in the floatation of ultrafine wolframite, the floatation effect is best, the recovery ofwolframite is88.55%. Add tributyl phosphate(TBP)88mg·L-1under the same experimental conditionsthe recovery of wolframite increased to93.56%, Trials show that the TBP can significantly improvethe combination collector floatation performance.Fine wolframite mud separation of Gannan concentrator now adopts full gravity separationprocess, the recovery of sulfide inclusion is only20%40%,the grade of WO3is13.65%in wolframiteconcentrate and the recovery is64.4%;The real ore ofGannan concentrator separation experiments bytwice roughing desulfurization flotation, onceroughing once cleaning centrifuge separation,731andsalicylaldoxime Dosage ratio9:1as combined collector, TBP as assist collector byonce roughing three cleaning twice scavenging wolframite floatation, and get wolframite concentratewith grade of WO3is33.80%and the total recovery is61.08%, floatation recovery is83.61%, andcomprehensive recovery the sulfide ore. The results are much better than full gravity separationprocess.The result of contact angle measure indicate that different collectors lead to mineral surfacecontact angle difference. The changing trend of contact angle is the same to wolframite recovery. Theresults of Infrared spectrometry experiments show that, the mode of731on wolframite surface iscarboxyl and Fe2+Mn2+chemical reaction; the mode of salicylaldoxime on wolframite surface ischemical adsorption, generates cyclic chelate probably; the mode of TBP on wolframite surface maybe strongly laminated-shape physical adsorption.
