| Objective: To study the the clinical effect of Hewei Chongji compared withdomperidone in treating functional dyspepsia of liver-stomach disharmony syndrome.Methods:80patients diagnosed with functional dyspepsia (FD) of liver-stomachdisharmony syndrome are included in this clinical trial. These patients are dividedinto two groups randomly according to random number table: the experimental group(41cases) and the control group (39cases). All of them are requested to fill in Zung’s self-rating depression scale (SDS). The experimental group: Hewei Chongji,100mlpo tid,30min ac. The control group: domperidone,10mg pot id,30min ac. Thetreatment course is4weeks. To evaluate the efficacy, the traditional Chinesemedicine (TCM) symptom scores are recorded according to patients’ symptoms.Fasting blood motilin (MTL) and gastrin (GAS) in are tested before and after thecourse. Water load test (WLT) with ultrasonography is a method to check proximalstomach volume, indirectly evaluating the visceral sensitivity. Results: The rate of depression in the80patients is41.25%, higher in women. Whenthe course is ended, there are4patients drop off, one in experimental group,3incontrol group. By taking the intention-to-treat method, the final effective rate ofexperimental group is95.12%, better than the control group76.92%(P<0.05). Inimproving the total symptom scores, both groups show good effect than before. Theexperimental group is much better in symptoms of epigastric pain, early satiety, belching and heartburn (P<0.05), while there are no statistical significance inabdominal distention, sour regurgitation, nausea and vomiting (P>0.05). The changeof MTL and GAS is statistical significant in both groups (P<0.05), and the MTLfigure of experimental group is higher than control group (P<0.05) after the treatment, while there is no difference in GAS (P>0.05). Water load test shows that thresholdvolume (TV) and satiety volume (SV) of experimental group are more than controlgroup (P<0.05) after the course, but there is no difference in stomach proximal endthreshold volume (SPTV) and stomach proximal end satiety volume (SPTV)(P>0.05). Conclusion: Hewei Chongji’s curative effect is better than domperidone in treatingin treating functional dyspepsia of liver-stomach disharmony syndrome, and is apotential therapy for the recovery of this kind of illness. |
