| This paper mainly researches the historical development of the treatment method of nourishing Yin and clearing heat. Modern literatures were also used to research the treatment method’s clinical applications in emmeniopathy. This paper is split into four parts. The first part is a literature review and consists of two reviews. The first review looks at commonly used treatment methods for emmeniopathy, with findings showing that regulating the Qi and blood, soothing the liver, harmonizing the spleen and stomach and nourishing the kidney were the main methods used. Other methods included treatments focusing on the lungs and phlegm, which also showed great curative effects. The second review looks at the general application of the treatment method of nourishing Yin and clearing heat in Gynecology, concluding that such treatment method is used in emmeniopathy, leucorrhea, pregnancy and puerperal, with emmeniopathy being used the mostThe third part is the analysis of modern literature. By reviewing the application of the treatment method of nourishing Yin and clearing heat, a conclusion was drawn which suggests that such method is used more often in treating emmeniopathy, such as preceded menstrual cycle, menorrhagia, metrostaxis and menopause etc. Database analysis methods of Access2010were also used to analysis literatures of the past30years (January1983to December2013with citation index sources from CNKI, Wanfang Database, VIP Database and the library of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, accumulating a total amount of251literatures. Literatures containing theory discussion, experimental research, experimental observation, no case history and repeating ones were then eliminated, resulting in a final count of77literatures) containing contents that included the application of the treatment method emmeniopathy. A database was created based on symptoms, tongue characteristic and herbs provided by case histories of the chosen modern literatures. The database is then statistically analyzed, summarizing the clinical results of the treatment method in treating emmeniopathy. Findings suggest that the main syndrome is Yin deficiency with blood heat; Main symptoms, sorted in frequency order, included prolonged menstruation, preceded menstrual cycle, menorrhagia, menstrual disorder, irregular vaginal bleeding etc. Red tongue was the main tongue characteristic; common tongue coatings included thin white coating, few coating, thin yellow coating and yellow coating etc; Tongue color and coating together included red tongue with few coating, red tongue with thin yellow coating and red tongue with yellow coating; thready pulse was the most common pulse; Shengdi, Baishao, Digupi, Ejiao, Maidong, Danpi, Huangbai, Shanyao, Shudi, Hanliancao, Nvzhenzi, Huangqin, Xuanshen, Shanzhuyu was the most commonly used herbs. Results from paired herb query showed that Baishao paired with Shengdi, Digupi paired with Shengdi, Ejiao paired with Shengdi, Baishao paired with Degupi, Maidong paired with Shengdi, Digupi paired with Maidong, and Ejiao paired with Digupi etc were the most commonly used herb pairs. The fourth part is discussion. Through research, it is found that curative effects exist when the treatment method of nourishing Yin and clearing heat is used to treat emmeniopathy with the syndrome of Yin deficiency and blood heat, verifying the clinical application and significance of the treatment method. |
