With the steady development of China’s economy, it contact with the othercountries more and more closely, and much more frequently. According to the latestreport, China’s GDP has been more than Japan, became the second place in theworld.That means more and more foreigners will deal with China. Language is thecontacting link between two contries. So,as we all know more and more people in theworld will be learning Chinese. The analysis of the current Chinese hot around world,Japan, Korea and the countries of Chinese cultural circle is the largest exportingcountry of Chinese language students. But with the economy of China increasingly,and in some of Europe, America, Africa, southeast Asia and other non-Chinesecultural circle of countries, Chinese will become popular as second language. In theUnited States,Chinese has become the third largest general foreign language in twelvekings of the second languages. However, faced with such a vast overseas market, anumber of problems in teaching Chinese as a foreign language is a seriousimpediment to the pace of the Chinese to the world. Chinese characters is one of themost important parts in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, but now teachingChinese characters has been one of the bottleneck. Teaching Chinese as a ForeignLanguage in recent decades has made tremendous progress, but as one of the keybasic skills in teaching Chinese as a foreign language teaching of Chinese charactersstill far behind."Chinese character is diffcult " is the general impression of thestudents who learning chinese. The Chinese characters for the Philippines studentswithout any Chinese characters based on is even harder. This article intends to graspthe characteristics of Chinese character shape, sound and meaning of the Trinity,combined with the particularity of the Philippines students, and raise some localstudents targeted teaching methods.Throughout the past dozens of years teaching research of Chinese characters,although have made great progress, but how to teach Chinese character efficiency andquality still has problems.Targeted teaching has been emphasized in recent years, teaching philosophy, teaching and research of Chinese characters is still not doingenough to improve, especially non-Chinese characters of the Chinese cultural circleof the primary stage students teaching and research very inadequate, however, inTCFL later, non-Chinese cultural circle Students will is a potential teaching groups,thus strengthening the teaching of Chinese characters of the non-Chinese culturalcircle of the initial stage of students is imperative, otherwise it will affect the pace ofprogress of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, more influence to China’seconomic takeoff.The paper is divided into four parts: first, an overview of Chinese charactersand the teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language; Second, the status and problems ofthe Philippine Chinese Education; the third, based on students’ given by the specialnature of teaching strategies Fourth,example in st.andrew school. The teachingChinese characters at this stage existence of monotonous training methods, the lack oftargeted and phased, it is difficult to meet the actual needs of the different level ofstudents. Consider the particularity of local students to the teaching strategy tostrengthen the relevance of the Chinese Character Teaching, Teaching ChineseCharacters more rationalization and scientific, and to some extent, reduce the fear ofhardship for the local students’ learning of Chinese characters can be students toimprove the learning efficiency of Chinese characters in a relaxed atmosphere.
