| Peasant paintings are a kind of folk art that are painted by farmers, ordinary people, rural teachers, cultural workers and amateur painters who express their aesthetic ideas in the way of painting, and which is the style of art that describes the peasant life of none professional painters. Peasant paintings in China have gradually appeared since the1950’s, having a close relationship with the natural environment and human environment. Representative peasant paintings in the provinces of mainland China are those of the Shaanxi Huxian, Shandong Rizhao, Jiangsu Pishan and Shanghai Jinshan. Peasant paintings in Xinjiang originated in the1970s, which are of the same special category:paintings that describe the peasant life and local traditions.At present, the peasant paintings of Makit, Awat, Kumul, Chapchal and Kucha are quite representative of Xinjiang. Xinjiang peasant paintings content also pay more attention to the local folk customs, history, culture, art, and economic activities. They have become a unique breed of folk art, embodying the farmers and peculiar local aesthetic tastes as well as ideals of life. Apparently, Dolan peasant paintings also have Chinese peasant painting features, while still showing some characteristics of Xinjiang peasant painting and things that reflect Makit Uighur life. Herein specifically speaking, are those describing Dolan’s artistic features and value system. Having deep cultural implications, the art provides a new way of thinking about and researching the way of the Dolan culture.The main body of this paper carries on a discussion and analysis from three aspects. Firstly, from the collection of literature data and data on local artists and cultural cadres via oral interview and related analysis of the history and heritage of farmer paintings, the origin of the farmer paintings and the farming painters lives are all put into a historical context. Dolan peasant painting history is constructed from farming painters’perspectives as well as other local accounts recorded in this study.Secondly, it is surrounded by the painter and his history creation context, the creative process of painting and the problems encountered in specific fieldwork location are further explored and all kinds of rules and the relationship between farmer painting art in social life is considered. The painter, a kind of disposition of the person(s) themselves, is determined by the social system, and thus connected together. Through considering the case of Dolan peasant painting research, one can find inspiration from it and realize that art as expressed via the media (representational format) concept system process of ethnic identity and roles, while also showing how in different situations of different farmers self-identity through painting is further formed and developed.Finally, to describe the peasant paintings and the social culture and daily life through the discussion of the aesthetic relation, every peasant artist is considered into the overall social structure to show the painting, in the field of aesthetics and philosophy to reveal related characteristics of peasant painting works. Then from aesthetic anthropology theory it explores the peasant paintings and social life contact, so that the farmers’ paintings are in the end only a understood in terms of painting skills, but also as an embodiment, a way of life, in the people’s minds.Dolan peasant painting as a kind of aesthetic experience "skills" behavior, and also a revolution in art:it is the art of publicity. But the peasant paintings when placed in the social field, as pictorial representations are another kind of culture phenomena, having a close relationship with social behavior. Its function is not only to promote policies and the national cultural heritage, but also to behold meaning regarding the construction of the related individual and the society. Within the characteristics of aesthetics and outleok on life, the relationship between structure and this particular art activity at hand, is a way to realize the value of life as well as the media form itself. |
