As the global "Chinese fever" is rising, as well as the economic cooperation with Myanmar is increasing, more and more Myanmar people are starting to learn the Chinese language. The learning motivation from most of them is for finding better job, following by hobby.At present, the academic world regarding the research of foreign language as a second language focused on English and less research on Chinese, especially the research of Oral Chinese. The author had been teaching Chinese in Myanmar, gathered many firsthand materials. Base on these materials, the author tried to research the learning strategy of Oral Chinese by Myanmar students, found the acquisition errors of students, and put forward the corrective actions. On these bases, seek the way how to improve the interest of Chinese by learners and improve their Chinese proficiency.The research on this subject is not only helpful to the learners, and the teacher can also improve the methods of teaching by understanding the learning strategy of the learners, so that it can improve the professional standard and teaching quality of the teachers.This thesis is divided into three chapters:The significance of the topic, methods of research and the summarization of relevant research results of both at home and abroad were introduced, the theory application of learning strategy in teaching Chinese as a second language which described the definition and classification of learning strategy, and the learning strategy and method of measurement of the second language speaking was introduced in Chapter I.Chapter II will be the main chapter of this thesis, it was mentioned the summarization of the current status and the insufficient of Oral Chinese teaching in Myanmar which were based on the investigation of firsthand materials. Analyzed the Oral learning strategy according to the different grade, gender, age, ethic Chinese and non-Chinese of the learners and acquainted the learning strategy which was used by the learners. This is very important in the area of Oral teaching of Chinese as a second language. After teachers understand the learners’strategies, they can use different teaching methods in the classroom so that they can train the learners to have the effective learning strategies and can improve the Chinese Oral ability of the learners.In Chapter III, the author summarized the investigation results of this research, proposed some teaching suggestions, the effective suggestions of learning the Oral Chinese for primary adult Myanmar students and some suggestions of how to improve the learners’Oral expression ability.This thesis mainly used the methods of survey questionnaires and interview. In the introduction of the method of survey questionnaires, the author introduced the strategy inventory for learning which is designed by Oxford in detail. That inventory involves four skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing. The author found the appropriate learning strategy for Oral Chinese and made a further research of special learning strategy for Oral Chinese. In the method of survey questionnaires, the author investigated the application of learning strategy for Oral Chinese by Myanmar student and the basis information of interviewee. After that, the author made a statistical analysis on the investigation data by using the SPSS software and investigated the relationship between the application of learning strategy and its learning effects while the Myanmar students learning the Oral Chinese. At present, there are lots of thesis which were researched the learning strategy for Chinese as a second language in both at home and abroad. However, there are only a few papers regarding the research of learning strategy for Oral. This thesis directs the learning strategy of Oral Chinese by Myanmar student for improving their learning method and the efficiency. This will be an innovation of this thesis. This thesis base on the firsthand teaching materials, researched the acquisition errors of learning Oral Chinese in primary stage by Myanmar adult students. Hopefully, this thesis can help to Chinese teaching in Myanmar as well as to improve the students’ learning interesting and their Chinese proficiency.
