Up to now, although it still plays a vital role in generating a festive mood and meeting people’s cultural life, it faces difficulties. The industrialization of lantern show is the inevitable choice of developing a sustainable model and keeping its living state. What’s more, it provides the lantern show a favorable chance to return to folkways and take its root in the people. Because of all these advantages, the industrialization will be good for its heritage and development, protection and utilization.Based on the field investigation of Lantern inheritors and relevant departments, the collection of newspaper data as well as the analysis and integration of various materials from home and abroad, this paper gives an objective description to the reality of the lantern show, conducts a thorough analysis of its advantages and disadvantages, borrows from the successful experiences of others and discusses its development model. The author discusses all above things in the hope of the further research and protection of Qinhuai lantern show.
