| Realism literature master, Premchand, is the pioneer of modern literature and oneof the founders of the progressive literature of India,who enjoys the reputation of"King of the hindi novel" in India. Women are discriminated and oppressed in India,female images occupied one of the most important positions in author’s novels. In theworks of Premchand about female, the novel Nirmala is a very good one and it is theonly one which was named by the heroine.Altogether the composition falled into three parts including: preface, main bodyand conclusion. In the preface the significance, method of the study and the currentresearch were introduced. The conclusion made a brief summary.The main body also falled into three parts. The first chapter was a survey ofPremchand’s life and literary works. The second chapter, through the behavior,psychology and language of the women in the novel, the personality characteristics ofthem was analyzed and the characters was interpreted. The third chapter, by analyzingthe women problems in the novel, Premchand’s concept of women was expounded.It is hoped that through analyzing the female images in Nirmala, readers canknow Indian society and Premchand’s concept of women better. |
