Xinghua Dialect Rhetoric

For a long time, rhetoric focuses on the rhetorical phenomena and the figures of speech, while it not take any attention on the relationship between the rhetoric and the three elements of language which are pronunciation,vocabulary and grammar until the appearance of a book named <Modern Chinese rhetoric>of Mr. Zhang Gong. The rhetoric study must be established on the basis of the researching of the three elements of language,because any rhetoric can not occur without using the three elements of language. The language elements rhetoric is to research on the rhetorical effects of language elements,that is what rhetorical devices can be made by the language elements and how to Enhance the effect of expression by using the linguistic features. The view of researching the language elements rhetoric makes peaple to believe that it can achieve a good rhetorical by using the pronunciation,vocabulary and grammar effect properly even if without any of the figures of speech.There are many linguistic expression which are contagious and great expressiveness in the dialect that reflect the language use ability and the emotional awareness of the dialect district people. It is a dialect system be built with the ’three elements’ of the dialect, meanwhile dialectal rhetoric phenomenon appears with taking advantage of the dialect characteristic language materials. So the dialectal rhetoric is also the object in the dialectology study. The dialectal rhetoric is to research that what figure of speech can be made by the dialectal language materials and how to achieve the good rhetorical effect. It is important that the study content of the dialectal rhetoric are special language materials different from those in Mandarin.The methods of studying the dialectal rhetoric are comparison, analysis, description and explanation. Firstly, compare a certain dialect to Mandarin.Then analyze the different language materials from the perspective of rhetoric. At last describe the pattern of manifestation of these dialectal language materials and explain the reason for the achievement of good rhetorical effect.The theme of this thesis is the rhetoric study of XingHua dialect. The paper consists of introduction, the main body, and postscript. three chapters are included in the main body. The part of introduction summarizes the significance of researching dialectal rhetoric.Chapter one includes two parts to discuss the impact of different pronunciation of XingHua dialects on rhetoric. Chapter two includes three parts to analyze the impact of the special vocabulary of XingHua dialect on rhetoric. Chapter three describe those grammar materials of XingHua dialect that can impact the rhetoric and the effect of the expression. The part of postscript is to summarize the thesis.
