Giving nutrition education to children and adolescents who are the mainsubjects of the future society and in the peak period of growth anddevelopment,plays a positive role in enriching their nutritional knowledge,improvingnutritional attitude and developing their nutritional practice.In the long run,it alsoplays an indispensable role in improving the national quality and laying a solidfoundation for national human resources.Considering the pressure of schoolworkand academic they confronted with and the lack of teachers teaching nutritioneducation,its imperative to penetrate nutrition education into subject teaching.The researcher has selected two classes as experimental class and control classrespectively from W middle school which are taught by the same biology teacher,andgives nutrition education to the experimental class,while the control class not.Thenperforming statistics analysis on the data reflecting their change of nutritionalknowledge,attitude and practice collected through questionnaire survey.According tothe statistics,the experimental class is doing better than the control one on the threeaspects,which demonstrates penetrating nutrition education into biology teaching iseffective.But the formation of nutritional behavior and the improvement of thenutritional status is not achieved overnight,it needs more permanent,comprehensiveand general intervention.I have done a lot of preparatory work in advance to ensure the smooth progressof the research, including the status of nutrition education and teachers attitudestowards the research,and also get support from the staff of this school.I havedeveloped the penetration nutrition education materials based on the particularity ofthe biology textbook and distributed to the students after learning eachchapter,hoping the school can exploit school-based curriculum and compileschool-based textbooks for nutrition education on this basis to push forward theprocess of school nutrition education.According to the practice,I have enumerated and analyzed the cases ofpenetrating nutrition education into biology in detail in the thesis,and summarized the strategies consist of penetrating through questions,cases,practice anddemonstrating.Also,I have drawn lessons from the research and put forward a seriesof suggestions and comments on school nutrition education,hoping they can helpbiology teachers to penetrate nutrition education and play a reference role inpromoting nutrition education.
