Fear of intimacy refers to the individual, because of anxiety, will exert an inhibitory in communicating important information with significant others. Important people here may be lovers, also may be the parents or close friends. Important information refers to the confidentiality, usually involving some aspects that individual feels ashamed, embarrassed and don’t want to be known. Fear of intimacy has important (negative) effect on the satisfaction of individual intimacy and maintaining intimate relationship all, therefore this research first revised foreign fear-of-intimacy questionnaire, the purpose is to provide a reliable tool for measuring the current situation of domestic college students’ fear of intimacy. After statistical analysis the author finds the group characteristics of fear-of-intimacy in gender and native places. Through observation and in-depth interviews, the author organizes the specific performance of high scorers on FIS and realizes the causes of unconscious. By using psychological analysis method (active imagination and sandplay) and experiencing the sandplay works with subjects, we wish to achieve the healing effect very naturally.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) The revised version of the fear-of-intimacy questionnaire (Chinese) is made of a total of35topics, including reverse scoring title14questions, and the item discrimination, reliability and validity are ideal;(2) Differences of College Students’ fear-of-intimacy in gender is significant (p<0.05), wherein the fear-of-intimacy level of rural students was significantly higher than the city’s and fear-of-intimacy of boys are significantly higher than girls’;(3) Through observation and in-depth interviews, the author summarizes the specific performance of high scorers on FIS involving three aspects: cognition, emotion and behavior. Through active imagination and sandplay games the author explores the causes of unconscious about fear-of-intimacy. Because of certain imprint loss engraved in heart, some people are always trapped in the fear that the gift of intimacy will be taken away at any moment; Some people, cannot holding onto the boundaries that define them, always feel entangled in their partner’s trifles and needs. Because they are unable to protect their most important things, they feel like they’re constantly sacrificing for the sake of the relationship; some people because of their own lack of confidence, deeply stuck in the inferiority, think they are unlikely to be loved.(4) By using the method of psychological analysis (Sandplay and active imagination), the effect of intervention on high scorers (FIS) is thorough, effective. And after the intervention,3subjects’level of fear-of-intimacy and anxiety has decreased significantly, and the effect of intervention was persistent.
