With the boost and the penetration of the New Curriculum Reform, the important function of teachers is gradually appearing. The professional development of teachers has attracted people’s attention more and more strongly and widely. Especially, as the core and the Inner motivation of the professional development of teachers, professional identity has being magnetized in recent years.Teacher’s professional identity is an individual perception, understanding and idea of how they consider themselves which is built in the process of the education practice gradually; it is also considered as the core of perceiving the working condition, investing with significance and taking action. However, as a marginalized group, teachers of character in primary school are usually hard to construct the conception, purport, and the confidence of themselves, and they also faces a series of confusions and problems in the procedures of building their professional identity.This research adopts case study method based on Teacher Rong of primary school R; explores the establishment and connotation of Teacher Rong’s professional identity by her professional identity story; reveals the continuously development trajectory process of Teacher Rong’s professional identity from the five dimensions which include career motivation professional preparation、self imagine、 professional recognition and future prospect.In the end, this research analyzes the factors which influence the building process of Teacher Rong’s professional identity; then from the aspects of school, teacher educator and teacher, some advises about how to promote the professional identity development of teacher of character in primary school is also provided.
