With the advance of the Quality-oriented Education and the implementation ofNew-curriculum Reform, the importance of the arrangement of English assignment insenior schools becomes increasingly significant. There is a large number of inefficientEnglish assignment in high school English courses and these problems have had seriouseffects on the students’ English learning in terms of efficiency. Especially in the ruralhigh schools, with lack of educational resources and management concept, most of theteachers’ understanding is limited. With lack of training for teachers, Teachers as theleaders of the arrangement of assignment are difficult to deeply understand the conceptof the new curriculum, leading to the existence of errors and deficiency of scientificity.In order to get rid of this unfavorable situation, light the burden and enhance theefficiency, we carried out preliminary inquiries on the effectiveness of rural high schoolEnglish homework. Combining useful attempts of teaching in a rural high school, a highschool English strategy effectiveness research topic, put forward the topic of strategiesof the effectiveness of rural high school English homework.The arrangement of assignment has a long history from educator Comenius(Comenius, Johann Amos)”Strengthen exercises, practice in order to consolidate theknowledge” to the United States teaching expert Harris Cooper’s monographHomework in which there are a lot of researches on the functions and positive effects ofthe assignment. From homework of Learning in the third century BC to increasingemphasis on lighting the burden and enhancing the efficiency, many educators proposedmany principles of effective strategies that should be followed. The arrangement ofassignment comes into being with the development of education.Cognitive learning theory,“pay attention to the main value of the learningactivities, and fully affirmed the learner’s conscious dynamic and important position androle in the learning, stress the importance of independent thinking”; Constructivistlearning theory, emphasize that the initiative and constructive of the learner in thelearning process; Humanistic learning theory,“emphasis on the inner world of thelearner emphasis on significance with the process of learning”. Independent study,research study and cooperative study are three forms relating to the arrangement of assignment. Based on these learning theories and study forms, I analyze the problems ofthe arrangement of assignment and put forward strategies with my own teachingexperience.Firstly, transition from understanding, based on cognitive learning theoryfoundation,“paying attention to the main value of the learning activities, fullyaffirming the learners’ conscious dynamic” rationalization strategy of understandingabout the arrangement of assignment is proposed; secondly, for the purpose of lightingthe burden and enhancing the efficiency, optimization strategy of configured amountabout the arrangement of assignment is proposed; thirdly, according to the constructivistlearning theory and humanistic learning theory, various content and forms strategiesabout the arrangement of assignment is proposed, containing “Situational”,“collaboration”,“session”,“the construction of meaning” and students’ interests,aspirations and needs, initiative of striving to cultivate the students to complete theassignments; finally, the law of implementation and diversification of correcting andevaluating about the arrangement of assignment are proposed. Discuss assignment to bearranged with students to promote an atmosphere of learning, let the students decide forthemselves on how to learn effectively, make correcting and evaluating a way tocommunicate the feelings between teachers and students, have students in activelearning, give full play to the arrangement of the functions of the arrangement ofassignment.Final empirical part consists of literature analysis and questionnaire as the mainresearch method. Two classes from NO.1high school of Qinggang country are selectedas the research object and surveyed on the efficacy of using innovative Englishhomework. Application of SPSS tools for data statistics makes results of twoquestionnaires helps me make analysis, discussion and conclusion, to some extent,verifying the effectiveness of the arrangement strategy to promote the students’ learningattitude, learning efficiency, learning effects. Finally, based on the overall analysis ofthe findings and issues, from individual students, parents and teachers’ position, I thinkabout the current education and proposal some suggestions.We hope to initiate effective strategies of the arrangement of assignment in order tolight the burden and enhance the efficiency, become an extension of classroom teaching,enable students to consolidate classroom knowledge to form an effective learning strategies, increase students’ interest in learning English, develop students’ self-learningability, and lay a good foundation for the future of lifelong learning...
