Sexual education for teenages is a global proposition of basic education.Since themiddle of the20thcentry, it has become a consensus to more and more countries thatsexual education is an important or even essential part for the comprehensivedevelopment of teenages. For several reasons, the progress of sexual education forteenages has difficulty progressing. Meanwhile, left-behind children in rural Chinahave appeared in a large number with the rapid urbanization, which rise the concernof the whole society.The research in this paper was based on the middle school left-behind children inrural area, using questionnaire, combined with interviews to understand the presentsituation of sexual education for teenages in Meizhou rural area. The left-behindjunior high school students in rural areas lack sexual knowledge. They know fewcommon sexual nouns and can’t make right judgements about wrong sexualcognition.There are large deviations in their sexual attitudes. They take a fuzzyattitude on the unmarried pregnancy or junior high school students’ puppy love. It isworth noticing that the left-behind girls’ self-gender identity is low, which is likely toaffect their healthy growth and development.SPSS statistical analysis found that there is significant gender difference in sexualeducation. There is no significant grade difference except sexual knowledge reserves.There is also no significant difference between left-behind children and non-leftbehind in most sexual education and that might due to the poor family sexualeducation which has weakened the effects of being non-left-behind.According to the results of investigation, the experience of other countries andareas, along with the rural reality of Meizhou City, it’s believed that three measuresshould be taken to improved sexual education for left-behind children.1. school should take a dominate positionSet series specific courses, complete the teaching material; build a strongcontingent of teachers 2.Take advantage of family educationParents should change their concepts and rational teaching methods shoud be taken.Parents far away should keep in touch with and guide their children by the phonefrequently.3. Society should not be ignoreTake advantage of the unique resources of the publicity department such as TVstations, websites, publishers, museums to purify the social environment and create ahealthy social atmosphere to poplularize sexual education for teenages.Through the joint efforts of schools, families, and society, it may effectivelyimprove the puberty education for left-behind children in rural area, andcomprehensively improve the teenages. Though, a good education system for theteenages is a long way to go.
