Research On The Interpersonal Trust And Urban Inhabitants’Occupational Status Attainment

Trust problem and occupational status attainment are important research fields in sociological research, gaining widely attention from domestic scholars and abroad scholars. Chinese society is a nepotist society, where the interpersonal trust plays an important role. As a product of interpersonal relationship, interpersonal trust plays an important role in the process for jobs, and affects people’s occupational status attainment. Therefore, the research on the interpersonal trust and urban inhabitants’ occupational status attainment not only has the special significance, but also has the great value both in theory and in practice.This article based on the "Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS2005)".Though adopting the research methods of theoretical research and real example analysis, this article studies how the interpersonal trust affects the urban inhabitants’ occupational status attainment. The study found that the interpersonal had effect on the urban inhabitants’ occupational status attainment.The idiosyncrasy credit and the universal trust has positive impact on the occupational status attainment. Due to strengthening the relationship of the two parties in the interaction, the interpersonal trust promotes information sharing between different people. Obviously, the better interpersonal trust plays a positive role in individual profession development. As with demographic variable, the effect on urban inhabitants’ occupational status attainment is significantly different.
