Social moral education is the foundation for moral education and social moralconsciousness is an important component of a person’s moral accomplishment. It is aresponsibility of secondary vocational education to develop high-skilled talents that are ofgood virtue and morality, highly skilled and all-round development. Vocational students, theobjects of secondary vocational education, are in an important period when their worldoutlooks, outlooks on life and values are becoming more and more mature. There is an urgentneed to give them correct education and guidance. In order to develop secondary vocationalstudents in an all-round way and construct a harmonious and stable campus and socialenvironment, it is significant for secondary vocational schools to enhance their effort fordeveloping students’ social moral consciousness, make them develop good habits andestablish a sense of social responsibility and a sense of mission for the era. As an importantcomponent of the overall vocational education, the development of social moralconsciousness deserves highest attention from the society.In general, the social moral consciousness of modern secondary vocational students isupward, proactive and healthy. However, it is a fact that some secondary vocational studentsare lacking of moral consciousness to different extents. In this paper, the author has appliedquestionnaire method, observation method and interview method to analyze major features ofthe absence of social moral consciousness among secondary vocational students and sometypical and common problems on their social moral consciousness in a comprehensive waythrough designing a questionnaire on social moral consciousness and giving them out tosecondary vocational students while combining with the author’s observation on the studentsas a teacher on moral education and class teacher for many years and personal interviews withsome students. In addition, a deep analysis on reasons for the absence of moral consciousnessamong secondary vocational students is undertaken from perspectives of social education,family education and school education. Upon that, a specific discussion on methods fordeveloping moral consciousness among secondary vocational students from perspectives ofsociety, family and school is conducted by combining the author’s understanding onphysiological and psychological characteristics of the students and the study and reflection on developing moral consciousness. This paper is aiming at come up with some workablesuggestions by linking theory with practice and giving full consideration to real conditions ofsecondary vocational education and the students.
