Yang Zaisui is a famous expert of contemporary China who is specialized in Chinese education in primary school. Since graduated from university in1958, he has been engaged in Chinese teaching and practice research in primary school. He is a productive scholar with rich practical experience and profound educational theories, whose thought of Chinese teaching has important guidance on the reform of education for the current Chinese teaching.The research object of this paper is Yang Zaisui’s thought of Chinese teaching. Based on the study of Mr. Yang’s works and combined with the interview, this paper attempts to analysis, conclude and generalize Mr. Yang’s thoughts of Chinese teaching.Except for the conclusion, this paper is composed of four parts:The first part is introduction, including the definition of related concepts, the origin and significance of research, related research status review and the main research method employed in this paper.The second part is about the analysis of the formation of Yang Zaisui’s thought of Chinese teaching from the aspect of era, personal teaching experience and the influence of interpersonal communication. Among them, the rich personal teaching experience, from the early elementary school teaching, later on the lectures published in university and finally after retirement research, outlines the process of his well-developed thoughts of Chinese education.The third part, which is the focus of this article, is a summary of the main concepts of Yang Zaisui’s thought of Chinese education. The author from Chinese curriculum view, course view, teaching view, aesthetic view and the view of teacher’s accomplishment, discusses the main content of Yang Zaisui’s thoughts of Chinese education. From the language discipline nature view and curriculum objectives two aspects elaborates the curriculum ideas. From the Chinese textbook of primary school, model selection and the design of exercise, talks about the compilation thought of Chinese textbook. From the nature of language, teaching of reading and writing three aspects elaborates opinions on Chinese teaching. From the basis, task and principle of aesthetic education of primary school Chinese teaching, describes views on aesthetic education. From three aspects of knowledge, ability and virtue, expounds the view of Chinese teachers’accomplishment.Based on the above, the fourth part aims at elaborating the contemporary enlightenment of Yang Zaisui’s thoughts on Chinese education from three aspects of contemporary Chinese teaching concept, Chinese teaching practice and the professional development of Chinese teachers. In conclusion, based on the study of Yang Zaisui’s educational works, this paper tries to expound his thoughts on Chinese education. This paper conveys the idea that studying Yang Zaisui’s thought on Chinese education makes important practical significance on promoting new curriculum reform and guiding contemporary Chinese teaching practice.
