With the advance of urbanization, more and more elderly people in rural areas have long farewell rural life, to follow their children to city life. The face of a new living environment, the elderly adapt to urban life in the process will be faced with many difficulties, for example: between urban and rural elderly, different habits and social status of the family living environment convert different consumption of communication in different languages different ideas and so on. These issues affect the quality of urban life in rural town in varying degrees, the elderly, and therefore needs to be more attention to the community.This paper mainly based on the theory of social adaptation, the elderly rural town into social adaptation:physiological adaptation, psychological adjustment, social adjustment and acculturation four aspects. Since the transfer of living space, a familiar environment changes, the initiative could lead to weakening of the body; reduce identity lack of self-worth; relative to the urban mainstream culture is marginalized; lack of financial and emotional support services makes control and cope with stress scenario capacity is reduced. These are mainly suited to the elderly because of the city’s own cultural quality of life of urban and rural difference in habits, the difference between urban and rural living environment and the difference between urban and rural cultural conflict institutional barriers and other factors.This study involved in group work methods to guide the elderly to participate in group activities into the city, in the activities of members proposed to improve the plight of their own, should strengthen communication with people and proper physical exercise, the body enhancement initiatives; advocacy communities elderly activities for older people into the city to build an interactive platform to enhance self-esteem and sense of belonging to the city of the elderly; governments and departments should strengthen the focus on the elderly in rural areas into the city to develop and improve relevant policies and regulations.
