With the continuous development of modern society and economic globalization, English has become an international language, as a basic language skill of modern human resources, its importance is outstanding day by day. English is a required course in the foundation stage of education, one of the main languages of foreign language curriculum in junior middle school period, is the key stage for students basic English knowledge accumulation and English skills upgrading, has a very important influence on students’ future development. Rural junior middle school students is a large group of Chinese in English learning, compared with the city, the present situation of English Teaching in rural junior high school is not optimistic, their English level is directly related to the junior high school students’ English level of whole country, the survey found the countryside junior middle school students’English learning interest is not strong, lack of subjective desire to learn English, lack of learning initiative. The new English curriculum standard pointed out in the teaching process should always reflect the dominant position of students, teachers should give full play to the student initiative in the process of learning and enthusiasm, arouse the students’ interest in learning, creating a relaxed, harmonious learning atmosphere. Teachers should pay more attention to the training of students’ learning habits initiatively, arouse students’ learning initiative, to attract them to participate actively in language learning activities, to cultivate students’ good learning attitude and a strong desire for knowledge, has a very important influence on the all-round development of rural students. The theme in this paperis to study stimulation strategies of stimulating the English learning initiative of rural middle school students. The main researches method of the paper are the literature research method, quest ionnaire survey method, experience method and other research methods, from the necessity and feasibility of excitation of rural junior high school students English learning initiative of the point of view of the analysis and discussion,106rural middle school students from a rural midlled school in Hunan province as the research object, tries to reveal the countryside junior middle school students’ English learning situation and the problems of investigation, analysis and summary, find out the main factors influencing the initiative learning English in the junior high school students, on this basis, to explore the rural junior middle school students’English learning strategies to stimulate their initiative.The thesis consists of five parts:Part One is about introduction, including research background, research significance, research purpose, research methods, research review, related concepts about English learning initiative and theoretical basis. The second part is the necessity and feasibility to stimulate rural junior middle school students English learning initiative. The third part is the investigation and analysis of the current situation of English learning in rural junior middle school students. The fourth part is the main factor affecting the rural junior middle school students’ learning initiative. The fifth part is the effective strategy to stimulate the countryside junior middle school students’ English learning initiative.This paper tries to explore the various attribution from the research on learning English in middle school students in rural area of Hunan Province, to guide the students to active learning, to foster students’ learning habits initiatively, to encourage the students to study evaluation measures and provide a basis and reference for rural junior middle school English teachers to arouse students’ learning initiative in English teaching.
