General relativity predicts that massive objects can bend space-time. As a result, the light ray will be relfected so obviously that we can observe the delfection. This pre?diction was testiifed in the past by vairous means. This thesis discusses some extremercases of this phenomenon which is called strong gravitational lensing, and its applica?tion. In some astronomical observations, some lensing objects are found to distort thenearby astronomical objects. Sometimes the distortion is so significant that giant tan?genital arcs can be observed. Thus we can obtain a lot of information from this kind ofphenomena. Meanwhile those gravitational lensing events have a range of researchesand applications. For instance, it is an important tool to analyze the mass distirbutionof galaxies and clusters. As a specific case, Abell2219is a massive galaxy clusterat redshift z-0.22which has obvious arcs and some multiple-images with spectro?scopic redshifts. Those data are very useful to analyze the mass distirbution of Abell2219with strong gravitational lensing. This thesis is organized as follows. First, thebasic principle of strong gravitational lensing, PIEMD mass profile and application areintroduced. Second, the lens system is reconstructed from the multiple-images usingthe LENST00L software. The resultant model with^226.22gives reasonable velocitydispersions and other parameters for the three main mass clumps. Last, an analysis ofthese simulation results and some conclusions are given. The main conclusions are:1)most of the mass in Abell2219is concentrated to the clump#1;2) the multiple-imageslocated between clump#1and#2lead to an inaccurate iftting of model parameters forclump#3.
