The X oil field located in Iraq, which is CNOOC’s external co-development of a carbonate oil fields, in the development process show many differences with the domestic carbonate reservoirs, how the reservoir pore distribution is not clear,so in-depth study of reservoir characteristics is of great significance. This paper has made a study on Asmari formation of X oil field area, used sedimentary petrology, reservoir geology Jogging geology theory and integrated geophysical interpretations, and combined core, analysis of laboratory and logging data to analysis the depositional systems, diagenesis, characteristics of reservoir and reservoir evaluation by macro-analysis and micro-analysis research methods. Results have been attained are as follows:(1) From the perspective of the core, thin slice observation, Asmari formation of X oil field area, the pores are mainly secondary solution pores, fractures and caves, According to the statistical results, the reservoir pore type in the matrix pore type, local crack and cave.(2) Based on conventional logging data and Qu Xian yuan recognition, Asmari formation void type identification of fractures and caves. According to the characteristics of the type identified, we are defined as matrix pore, fracture pore and vug pore facies.(3) Based on the fracture incidence index, coefficient of expansion, the Gauss curvatureand the stress field and seismic trace data coherence attribute analysis shows that thepotential fracture research area developed in X-3, X-25, X-28near well area.(4) Based on multiphase and stochastic modeling method, calibration, reservoir permeability medium and stochastic modeling, through multi-scale information fusion and multi space, realize the three-dimensional characterization of pore, cave and fracture. The pore of Asmari in the study area reservoir three-dimensional prediction.(5) Through the capacity analysis, it is found that there are more holes and fractures in the small seam, while the physical property statistics is also found that the permeability of the small layer is obviously higher than other small layer.
