Because lacking of behavior decision, the analytical method of traditional "four-stage" travel is not sensitive to the change of transportation policy and has been replaced by the activity-based analysis gradually in recent years. Time geography focuses on space-time interaction of activity and travel. It emphasizes the interaction between constraint and decision, and establishes space-time philosophy and methodology of travel demand management based on geography, considering comprehensively by activity decision inserted into the individual space-time window through combing with GIS, which makes research on the travel behavior change from the conceptual framework of time-space constraint to instrumentalization of measure, analysis and simulation. Spatio-temporal data model is the core component of related GIS platform. Firstly, it establishes theoretical framework to solve spatial reasoning problems that GIS can not do well, which makes it an instrument for travel simulation and prediction. Secondly, it establishes activity-based database management system relying on GIS, in order to effectively organize and manage travel-activity data of individual or household.Based on the previous researches and GIS, this thesis studied the configuration management of activity database, visualization of space-time path, behavior decision process, and high-level space-time analysis. According to different research objectives, the matched spatio-temporal data model established describes the daily activity pattern of residents, and focuses on object-oriented thinking and method. The main researches finished are as follows:Firstly, Considering the activity, that is, the organization and management of the travel database, and the visualization problem of the space-time path based on GIS platform, a spatio-temporal data model which has been described based on the state will be built, for it can regard the state of the activity and travel as spatial lingering and spatial moving. And also in this model, the complex trajectory data was simplified into a space-time path that connects several points. Based on the EER relational model, links will be built between databases and will be applied into the travel database management of Kunming residents. Summarizing the applicability of this spatio-temporal data model can help find the perfect managing ways which based on the theory of behavior decision process.Secondly, For space constraints in behavioral decision process simulation, city residents oriented activity-travel spatio-temporal data model is set up, which interprets the space-time path as family decision-making behavior, thinking daily lives are constituted by tasks distributed. Tasks need to be specific as agenda and assigned to limited time and space resources in family, thus constituting permutation and combination of events and eventually form a family activity plan. Arrangements of events need to consider time and space constraints both in individual activities and group activities. A spatio-temporal GIS system structure based on UML is further built and the concept of behavioral decision simulation application based on GIS is put forward.Thirdly, based on the three activities-travel study program previously developed, this article build an integrated GIS application platform based on activity with two spatio-temporal data model.
