With the rapid development of national economy, a large number of projects will inevitably encounter the problem of slope stability. Different slope structure, the deformation and failure mode, the control measures are also different. It is necessary to carry out the research on slope stability evaluation system, meet the engineering construction and the protection of people’s lives and property safety requirements. Through the summary analysis of existing data, the slope constitutive relation and yielding criterion for slope stability evaluation methods are summarized, according to the current research status of slope stability under the influence of rainfall and earthquake and unsolved problems, this paper in Huangling County ditch village renovation project slope as an example, numerical simulation using FLAC3D software for three-dimensional modeling through the analysis of calculation results, the effects of rainfall and earthquake on loess slope stability and its failure mechanism. The main contents of this paper include the following aspects:(1) to calculate the safety factor under the natural condition with the FLAC3D strength reduction method, through analyzing the natural state and the critical state of slope stress field, displacement field and plastic zone distribution nephogram, obtained in the natural state, the maximum principal stress distribution in the slope bottom. Because the soil on the steps toward the free surface, happened to toppling, appeared on the steps at the tensile stress. More from the slope of the main section, the angle between the long axis and horizontal direction of the force vector is close to 90 degrees, the more close to the slope, the long axis is parallel with the slope; slope internal displacement vector is close to the slope, the direction is pointing to the surface, more from the slope, the direction of the downward displacement vector.(2) calculation model by using FLAC3D numerical analysis in different rainfall intensities (10mm/d,25mm/d,50mm/d, 100mm/d) for two consecutive days of rainfall under the influence of pore pressure, displacement field, the regularities of distribution of plastic zone. With the increase of rainfall intensity, the pore water pressure of the slope increases significantly, which reduces the effective stress of the slope and increases the risk of slope failure;(3) using FLAC3D numerical calculation model, using time history analysis method, the slope surface layout of monitoring points in the analysis under the different earthquake acceleration (0.01g and 0.2g,0.3g) monitoring point displacement time history curve and plastic zone distribution rules are known: the bulges of slope surface is, the more obvious the place, the greater the impact of the earthquake; from the displacement time history curve, all with the continuing impact of the earthquake, monitoring the size of displacement performance for a higher position, displacement is larger; seismic wave propagation to the slope surface, the seismic acceleration has amplification effect.(4) the safety factor of the slope under the three conditions (natural, rainfall, earthquake) is significantly improved by the reasonable support scheme of the slope.
