The horizontal well have been aroused large-scale attention across the world and developed rapidly and used extensively for its particular features and advantages such as expanding the contact area, improving development effect and so on. The productive zone of horizontal well often extends as long as hundreds even thousands of meters and its production performance needs to be strict monitored for steady output of oil well and production management of oil-filed. As to temperature monitoring, many distributed temperature sensors (DTS) abroad have been installed in the open-hole completion intervals of production well and horizontal well to continuous monitor well production performance. Then, we can make an analysis of these temperature data from DTS to know the horizontal well production performance. However, the changing magnitude of wellbore fluid is small because the geothermal temperature of horizontal interval remains practically unchanged, so the traditional computational temperature model for vertical well cannot make a rational interpretation. Study thoroughly and systematically on the horizontal wellbore temperature profile and its application of oilfield development have become a important topics.A new inflow analytical model was developed in the paper based on the coupling of mass and energy balance equations for a horizontal well at the center of a boxed-shape reservoir. Then an analytical solution was obtained with analytic method and some applications of inflow temperature profile was discussed by calculating the initial inflow temperature profiles of specific examples. On the basis of the development of wellbore analytical temperature model and the combination of the mass and energy balance equations which first accounted for subtle energy effect including viscous dissipation, fluid expansion, heat convention, and heat conduction for wellbore and reservoir flow, a numerical temperature model of two-phase flow in horizontal wellbore in bottom water drive reservoir was developed with finite-difference method. Then a numerical simulator of temperature profiles with matlab and implicit pressure explicit saturation (IMPES) method was programmed. In the end, the temperature profiles along horizontal wellbore weer numerical calculated combing with specific examples and comparison of temperature profiles with different case to discuss effect of flow rate, permeability and oil type on the profiles.
