In this paper, it selects the research area in the north of Tongdu Avenue which is in the city ofTongling in Anhui Province. The soil in monitoring area is based on backfilling homogeneous andnew soil. It is systematical analyzing the distribution characteristics, accumulation and influencingfactors in traffic heavy metal pollutants, which experimental areas are insist of the original soil, backfill new soil monitoring area, roadside topsoil in another side. That could make a scientificbasis to protect and solve the problem in the heavy metal pollution along the road and could makea scientific planning to crop. The main conclusions are as follows:1、The pollutants causing the changing of Pb, Zn, Cu content in roadside are from exogenousinput of pollutants which mainly are road dust and road runoff. Pollutants can also cause changessoil magnetic susceptibility in the surrounding road. In addition to vehicle emissions, tire wear andother reasons, heavy metals which are from dust and goods scattering will cause a greater impacton the soil surrounding roads.2、The distribution in traffic source of heavy metal contamination on both sides of roads isskewed distribution of pollutants, which is concentrated in the range from2-4m around theembankment. In a small area around the road, roadside running surface turbulence caused bytraffic is the main source of heavy metal pollutants appearing skewed distribution.3、In the case of no road teeth, gutters, green belts and other facilities, traffic sources of theheavy metal pollutants are mainly distributed in range of10m around roadbed which with roaddust and soil runoff into the topsoil.4、Traffic sources of heavy metals pollutants are all concentrated in surface. with theincreasing of Commuting time, the level of polluting is continuing to accumulate. What’s more, itgradually extends to downward migration of soil vertical profiles, which the migration range canbe the deep of20cm. Soil type will affect migration of heavy metals, but migration of heavymetals has a lower rate in density and greater viscosity soil. By roadside soil affect theexperimental area, enrichment of pollutants are in the vicinity of underground3cm.5、Distribution of traffic sources of heavy metals pollutants in roadside soils is affected bymany factors. Except the soil type, the impact of wind, precipitation, vegetation cover and other natural conditions should be brought about. Way traffic and vehicle type is also one of the factors.6、Complete green belt (shrub wall, roadside trees, etc.),and drains such as roads caneffectively reduce the highway heavy metal pollution caused by the surrounding soil due to roaddust and road runoff and other factors.7、 Different from the distribution of heavy metal content, topsoil magnetic susceptibility onboth sides of road is decreases with increasing distance from the highway embankment which isexhibiting exponential distribution. the high magnetic susceptibility values on both sides of roadsare concentrated in the vicinity of the highway within the range of2-4m.
