With the development of glass manufacturing technology and processing technology,glass, as a kind of common auxiliary materials, is becoming more and more widely applied,especially in the automotive industry, which has become a must. The continuousimprovement of science and technology makes the high speed and high precision become aspecific way of glass cutting processing technology. According to the productionrequirements, this paper studied on the curved glass CNC system and brought up a set ofexclusive solution: the use of precise mathematical model, convenient process craft databaseand contour smoothing reconstruction technology could improve the speed and the qualityof process, which had been stably applied in actual production.Based on the diamond or cemented carbide tool bit and the special mechanicalprocessing structure of a curved glass cutting equipment, this paper established a specializedmapping model of contour Polar coordinates and formulated a specialized CNC system bycombining with the pattern of enterprise production. The system optimized cutting craft,introduced the concept of process database, and realized the digital management of cuttingprocess and the one-click processing of the product for established processing craft. Againstthe characteristics of glass such as frangibility, high rigidity,“one cutting chance” and etc,the system had realized two key technologies: the smoothing reconstruction orientedmachining contour and the programming of acceleration and deceleration, which hadalready solved some problems: machine tool vibration caused by the high speed cuttingprocess,the disorder of stress distribution of scratch, the big roughness of machining faceafter departing process.For machining contour reconstruction technology, this paper had put forward analgorithm of biarc curve fitting for machining contour, which was based on the constraintof non-uniform tolerance zone. It could smoothly reconstruct the machining contour andensure the biarc spline curves within the specified tolerance zone. Non-uniform tolerancezone was generated by two-side non-uniform offsetting of the original contour. Theoffsetting distance was determined by the estimated curve’s shape and the biarccharacteristic. If requested, the operation of eliminating the overlap of tolerance zone could ensure that curve topology was consistent with that of the original one.The experimental results demonstrated that the transformation model from the planecontour to the surface contour was correct. The machining contour reconstructed by biarcfitting obviously reduced the vibration of machine tools, improved the quality of product’smachining surface and increased the maximum processing speed of equipment from the6.5m/min to11m/min.
