In order to make a research and development about the recycling technology of akind of mixture liquid containing alcohols, aldehydes and other valuable componentsemitted from the butanol and octanol production process. Based on the existingtechnology, some improvements were made in this article. It research and develop anew butanol and octanol mixture recycling technology fitting for the enteritises’features and will not only make those active ingredients into full use but also reducethe environmental pollution.Through researching the butanol and octanol mixture recovery situation withinChina and oversea countries, the recovery process of a company use the low pressurecarbonyl synthesis method to produce butanol and octanol mixture which wereoptimized in this article. According to the company’s requirement for the raw materialof butanol and octanol mixture and products’ specifications, this design was made byAspen Plus process simulation and fluid dynamics calculations, that is to take sixtowers continuous distillation process technology roadmap. According to the theorythat different materials have different boiling points at the same pressure, thesequential separation of the product was achieved.Butanol and octanol mixture recovery process were studied, a suitabletechnology conditions was decided through process design and operating conditions,and therefore the component cutting clarity was improved. Meanwhile, this paper hasmade a design and selection for the technology needed major equipments.6sets ofdistillation columns are made of high structured packing tower, and the towerdiameter as well as the packing layer segments were calculated; Combined with theusing of Aspen Plus, the designing results of17sets of equipment load heat exchanger,heat transfer area and specifications were obtained;24sets of pump’s selection wascompleted; the main dimensions tanks, intermediate tanks and other18sets of storagetanks were given. According to the requirements of butanol and octanol mixturerecycling process, the instruments design conditions and public works conditionswere also proposed. Finally, the energy saving measures of recovery set werediscussed to minimize energy consumption.The recycling technology has been successfully commissioned and achievedsatisfactory application results. Reached the enterprises’ requirements of technicalspecifications, that is, mixing alcohol recovery≥90%,octanol recovery≥88%.Andaccording to preliminary estimation, by using of this process to recycle butanol andoctanol mixture will make more than40million yuan in profits, can achieve goodeconomic returns.
